( 7x - 4y ) : ( 3x + y ) = 5 : 13

We know that ,

If a : b = c : d then

ad = bc

*****************************************

( 7x -4y ) × 13 = ( 3x +y ) × 5

91x - 52y = 15x + 5y

91x - 15x = 5y + 52y

76x = 57y

x / y = 57 / 76

Therefore ,

x : y = 57 : 76
