By using substitution method

7x = 7+8y

x = 7+8y/7

2(7+8y/7)+y=2

14+16y/7 + y = 2

14+16y+y =2*7

14+17y=14

17y= 14-14

17y = 0

y =0

7x-8(0)=7

7x -0 =7

x=7/7

x=1
