7×4/9+k×2/3-3=0
=>29/9+2k/3-3=0
=>(29-27)/9=-2k/3
=>2/9=-2k/3
=>-k=2×3/9×2
=>k=-1/2
I think the answer in Ur book is wrong

7×2/3²+k×2/3-3=0
7×4/9+2k/3=3
28/9+2k/3=3
28/9+6k/9=3
28-6k=27
-6k=-1
k=-1/6
