Here is your answer.....

 \frac{7y - 5}{4y + 2}  =  \frac{8}{7}  \\  \\ by \:  \: cross \:  \:  \: multiplying \:  \:  \: we \:  \: get \:  \:  \\  \\ 7(7y - 5) = 8(4y + 2) \:  \:  \\  \\ or  \\  \\  \:  \:  \\ 49 - 35 = 32y + 16 \\  \\ 49y - 32y = 16 + 35 \\  \\ or \\  \\  \\  \\ 17 = 51 \\  \\ or \\  \\  \\ y =  \frac{51}{17}  = 3

Verification :

L.H.S \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \frac{7y - 5}{4y + 2}  =  \frac{7 \times 3 - 5}{4 \times 3 + 2}  =  \frac{21 - 5}{12 + 2}  =  \frac{16}{14}  =  \frac{8}{7}  = R.H.S

Hence., y = 3 is the solution.

Hope this is helpful ....☺☺☺☺

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

=7y-5/4y+2=8/7

=8(4y+2)=7(7y-5)

=(32y+16)=(49-35)

=16+35=49y-32y

51=17y
