Step-by-step explanation:

{2x + 7}/ { 3x + 7 } = 3/4

8x + 28 = 9x + 21

x = 7

present age = 2x + 7

= 14+7 = 21yrs

= 3x + 7

= 21+7 = 28yrs

let their present ages be =x

2x=3x 7 years ago

so there present ages

are 3(2x-7)=4(3x-7)

6x-21=12x-28

12x-6x=-21+28

6x=7
