8 - 2x = 5(x - 2) \\ 8 - 2x = 5x - 10 \\ - 2x - 5x = - 10 - 8 \\ - 7x = - 18 \\ x = \frac{ - 18}{ - 7} \\ x = \frac{18}{7}

8-2x=5x-2 is not a part of solving the problem

Here is your answer

8 - 2x = 5x - 10

8 + 10 = 5x + 2x

18 = 7x



Answer -

Your answer would be option

C. 8 - 2x = 5x - 2

as it's 8 -2x = 5x - 10

and -2 isn't the part while solving .
