8(2y-5)=6(3y -7)+1 solve the equation

8 (2y - 5) = 6(3y-7) + 1
16y - 40 = 18y - 42 + 1
16y - 40 = 18y - 41
41 - 40 = 18y - 16y
1 = 2y
y = 1/2

ans. y = 1/2
