 \frac{8}{3} +  \frac{-9}{4}

LCM of 3 and 4 is 12.

 \frac{8}{3} ×  \frac{4}{4} =  \frac{32}{12}

 \frac{-9}{4} ×  \frac{3}{3} =  \frac{-27}{12}

 \frac{32-27}{12} =  \frac{5}{12}
