given =   V₁ = 50Cm ³ hydrogen gas  V₂ = 125 Cm³

              pressure p₁ = 1400 torr

to find = P₂ =?

solution=  

                P₁V₁ = P₂ V₂

                P₂  =  P₁V₁/V₂

                P₂  = 1400 X 50 /125

                P₂  =  70000/125

                P₂  =   560 Torr

the final pressure of the gas aftter expansion is 560 torr.
