Initially the mass of 3 m is at rest

A bomb explodes it into 3 fragments of equal masses 'm '

Two particles fly of at right angles from each other

Momentum of the first particle = 9 m

Momentum of the second particle =12 m

Resultant momentum of the two particles

P net

=√ P 1 ²+P 2 ²

= √ 81 m²+144m²

=√225m²

= 15 m

As per the diagram shown in the attachment

15 m = m v'

v ' = 15 m/s ²
