Given : A cargo of grain is insured at (3/4) %  to Cover 70% of its value.  Rs.1,008 is the  amount of premium paid  .  grain  is worth Rs. 12 per kg ,

To find   : how many kg  of the grain did the cargo contain

Solution:

Let Sat   cargo contain  Grain  =    G  kg

grain  is worth Rs. 12 per kg ,

Total Cost of Grain  = 12 * G  = 12G  Rs

70% of its value. is Covered

Insurance Done for = (70/100)12G  = 8.4G  Rs

Premium paid at   (3/4) %

Premium Paid =  ((3/4) / 100) * 8.4G

= 6.3G/100

6.3G/100  = 1,008

=> G = 16000

cargo contain   16000  kg Grains
