Answer:

Let the principal be Rs. X

If rate of simple interest per annum = 15%, Amount = Rs. 1725

And rate of simple interest per annum = 20 %, amount = Rs. 1800

Then, 5% of principal = 1800 – 1725 = Rs. 75

Therefore, 100% principal = 75 x 100/5

= 75 x 20

= Rs. 1500

Then, the principal is Rs. 1500.

Hence, the answer is (2) Rs. 1500.
