shipment, 1/8 of the goods are usually damaged. If
it wants to receive 560 pieces of undamaged goods,
how many total goods must it order for shipment?​

you are loosing 1/8 of all shipments so you are left with 7/8 of your shipment; therefore, 560 pieces would be 7/8 of your order so your shipment must be as follows:

order = undamaged goods divided by 7/8

order = 560 X 8/7 = 4480/7 = 640

if you order 640 pieces, you will loose 1/8 or 80 pieces

leaving you with 560 pieces
