8. a) Fossil fuels are exhaustible natural resources. Do you agree? Justify your

b) It is difficult to burn a heap of green leaves but dry leaves catch fire easily.

a)Yes fossil fuels are exhaustible natural resources.Fossil fuels are formed deep under eath from the prehistoric remains of plants and animals.It cannot be formed again.The temperature and pressure of the earth has changed.So cannot be formed again.

b)It is because green leaves have a small presence of water.So it is difficult to burn green leaves.

Fossil fuels are considered to be an exhaustible resource because they are available in only limited quantities. Fossil Fuels take thousands, if not millions, of years to replenish and people are using them up too fast so they can not renew.

green leaves still contain a lot of water, once a leaf dies the water leaves the leaf along with all of the cells in the leaf. There is also a possibility that the ignition point changes once the cells die!
