Answer:

Distance on way = 6 km

Distance both ways = 6 x 2 = 12 km

The time taken on the way there:

Time = Distance ÷ Speed

Time = 6/12 = 0.5 hour

The time needed on the return trip:

Time = Distance ÷ Speed

TIme = 6 ÷ 10 = 0.6 hour

Total time taken:

0.5 + 0.6 = 1.1 hour

The average speed:

Speed = Total Distance ÷ Total time

Speed = 12 ÷ 1.1 = 10.91 km/hour

Answer: 10.91 km/hour
