Dear,

● Answer- 5×10^6 m

● Explaination-
# Given-
v = 10 km/s = 10000 m/s

# Solution-
When rocket is launched in space, its kinetic energy is getting converted to potential energy.

At max height,
PE(max height) = KE(at launch)
mgh = mv^2 / 2
h = v^2 / 2g
1h = 10000^2 / 2×10
h = 5×10^6 m

Max height attained by the rocket will be 5×10^6 m.

Hope this is helpful...

aayushg1713: this answer is wrong as the velocity is very large gravitational pull by the earth will vary at high altitudes
