8. A solid of mass 40 g is heated to a constant temperature
of 220°C and then dropped into 150 g of water at 15°C
contained in a copper calorimeter of mass 50 g. If the
final temperature attained by the mixture is 20°C, then
apply the principle of method of mixtures to find the
specific heat capacity of the given solid. Given that
specific heat capacity of water = 4200 J kg-1 °C-1 and
specific heat capacity of copper = 400 J kg-1 °C-1.
