8. A train starting from rest attains a velocity of 20 m/s in 2 minutes. Assuming that the
acceleration is uniform, find (1) the acceleration (ii) the distance travelled by the train
while it attained the velocity.​

Answer:

Initial velocity is 0

Final velocity =20m/s

Time = 2mins= 120 sec

  1. Acceleration = v-u/t

=20-0/120

=1.67 m/s²

2. From 2nd equation of motion,

s= ut +1/2 at²

= 1/2 × 1.67 × 120²

Just calculate it.
