HazardG002: (A)the separation of a liquid mixture by passing it through a material through which some parts of the mixture travel further than others.
HazardG002: (B) https://www.chromatographytoday.com/news/gc-mdgc/32/breaking-news/why-is-chromatography-called-chromatography/31178
HazardG002: (C)1 Precise separation, analyses, and purification is possible using chromatography.
2 It requires very low sample volumes.
3 It works on a wide range of samples including drugs, food particles, plastics, pesticides, air and water samples, and tissue extracts.

\bold{chromatography ~:   }

The process of separating different dissolved constituents of a mixture by their absorption on an appropriate material is called chromatography.

\bold{ It ~is ~named~ so ~: }

It is named so because earlier it was used to separate mixtures containing colored components only but these days this technique is applied to colorless substances too.

\bold{ Advantages~ of~ chromatography~:}

  1. A very small quantity of the substance can be separated.
  2. Components with very similar physical and chemical properties can be separated.
  3. It identifies the different constituents of a mixture.
  4. lt also helps in quantitative estimation of components of a mixture.
