8. A wire is 7x-3 metres long. A length 3x+4 metres is cut out of it for
use. How much wire is left

Given length of the wire = ( 7x - 3 ) m

Length of Wire used = ( 3x - 4 ) m

= Original length of wire - Length of wire used

= ( 7x - 3 ) - ( 3x - 4 )

= 7x - 3 - 3x + 4

= 4x - 7

Hence,  

Now, Length of wire which is left is used to make an equilateral triangle.

So, the wire length will be equal to  of the triangle.

As we know that the length of side of equilateral triangle is same.

Let, each side of equilateral triangle = 'a' cm

4x - 7 = 3 ( a )

a = ( 4x - 7 ) / 3
