Answer 16

Explanation volume of square =12X12

volume of rectangle = 9 X length

and volume of square= volume of rectangle

=> 12X12=9 X length

=> length =12X12/9

=16

G I V E N :

  • Side of square = 12 cm
  • Breadth of wire = 9 cm

T O F I N D :

  • The length of rectangle = ?

S O L U T I O N :

Finding the perimeter of square :

→ Perimeter of square = 4 × side

→ Perimeter of square = 4 × 12

Perimeter of square = 48 cm

  • Hence,the perimeter of square is 48 cm.

Finding the length of rectangle :

→ Perimeter of square = Perimeter of rectangle

→ 48 = 2(Length + Breadth)

→ 48 ÷ 2 = Length + 9

→ 24 = Length + 9

→ Length = 24 - 9

Length = 15 cm

  • Hence,the length of rectangle is 15 cm.

V E R I F I C A T I O N :

→ 48 = 2(Length + Breadth)

→ 48 = 2(15 + 9)

→ 48 = 2(15 + 9)

→ 48 = 2(24)

48 = 48

LHS = RHS
