Answer:

12 days

Step-by-step explanation:

let A takes x days so B will take 2x days to complete the work alone .

A's 1 days' work = 1/x

B's 1 days' work = 1/2x

1/x + 1/2x = 1/8

2x^2 = 24x => x = 12

A alone will take 12 days to complete the job

GIVEN :-

A works twice as fast as B

They work together to complete job in 8 days.

TO FIND :-

Time taken by A to complete the job.

SOLUTION :-

Let A took 'x' days to complete the job.

Time taken by B = 2x days.

They work together and complete a job in 8 days.

(1/x) + 1/2x = 1/8

=> 3/2x = 1/8

=> 24 = 12x

=> x = 12

Hence, A takes 12 days to complete the job
