8. Cost price of a pair of sandals and a pair of shoes is *990. The pair of shoes costs 410 more than
the cost of the pair of sandals. Find the cost of each pair separately.

Answer:

let the pair of sandals be x and pair of shoes be y

A/Q,

x+y=990

& y= x+ 410

Now,

by elimination method,

x+y-y=990-x-410

2x= 580

x= 290

therefore,

y= x+410

= 290+410

= 700

hence the price of pair of shoes is ₹700 and pair of sandals is ₹290.
