It is the velocity of an object or observer B in the rest frame of other object / observer A. It is called Relative velocity.

For more information :-

  • The relative velocities are the time derivatives of the position vectors.

  • Example of Relative velocity:- Suppose ,we are in a bus and it goes with the velocity of 50 m/s to the east and then a truck passes us with a velocity of 60m/s to the east. Velocity of the moving objects with respect to other moving or stationary object is called relative velocity.

The velocity of an object is the rate of change of its position with respect to a frame of reference, and is a function of time. Velocity is equivalent to a specification of an object's speed and direction of motion (e.g. 60 km/h to the north). Velocity is a fundamental concept in kinematics, the branch of classical mechanics that describes the motion of bodies.
