- They are differentiated and discriminated when it comes applying for jobs be it in government or private sector. Though there are reservation for the, most times they are denied jobs.
- In many schools special children are not given admission due to the concern of bullying or teasing of such children by other children. Especially children with dyslexia problem are denied admission in normal school (although they are not supposed to be denied) as they are slow learners.
- Besides, discriminatory practices are prevalent within the community towards special children, such as denial of disability, social boycott, physical restraints, and denial of property rights.
- Many public facilities/amenities such as transportation , do not have provision for special needs people causing inconvenience and difficulty in using them by people with special needs. also there are many discrepancies in state welfare programs when it comes to people with special needs. Even some places such as hotels, temples, other recreational places do not provide special facilities for people with special needs
- When it comes to sports, despite being talented they are not given much prominence, recognition, or the govt too does not support enough or invest adequately in bettering their talent or provide financial assistance for enhancing their training in the specific sports field, especially, when such people with special needs comes from the lower strata of society
