The physiography of landforms differs from continent to continent, region to region and so on. The whole process mainly depends upon the tectonic plates, type of rocks, intensity and frequency etc. Both the coastal plains differs in carious factors that are as follows:

Coast of emergence and submergence: The western coastal plains (WCP) are called as coast of emergence whereas, the Eastern coastal plains (ECP) are called as coast of submergence.

Width of coast: The width of WCP is natrow and that if ECP is wider.

Estuaries and deltas: Due to narrow width of coast of WCP river forms estuaries at the mouth. Because of broader width river here forms deltas.

Depth of continental shelf: In WCP the depth is much steepere whereas in ECP it has gentle slopes.

These were some of the factors that makes both the coastal plains alike.
