In the electrolysis of NaCl,electric current is passed in through molten Sodium chloride which breaks the ionic bond between sodium and chlorine.Sodium after separation gets collected at cathode whereas Chlorine gets collected at anode.

NaCl-----–------------> Na^+ (cathode) + Cl^- (anode)
