To do the math we first need to find the area of each polygon separately..

Area of the reactangle = Length × Breadth

= 50 cm × 10 cm

= 500 cm sq.

Area of upper trapezium = a+b/2 × h

= ( 10 + 30 / 2 × 10 )

= 200 cm sq.

Area of lower trapezium = a+b/2 × h

= ( 10 + 30 / 2 × 10 )

= 200 cm sq.

(Now just simply add the areas to get the total area...)

.•. Total Area = 500 cm sq. + 200 cm sq. + 200 cm sq.

= 900 cm sq.
