for finding radius...

We should find the diagonal by Pythagoras theorem.

it is 13

(5^2+12^2 = 13^2)

therefore,

radius = 6.5

now area of circle

area of the circle =

\pi \: r ^{2}

= 3.14 × 6.5 × 6.5

= 132.665 cm^2

area of rectangle

area of rectangle = 2(l+b)

= 2 (5+12)

= 2 × 17

= 34 cm^2

area shaded portion

area of the circle - area of the rectangle

= 132.665 - 34

= 98.665 cm^2

hoping my answer is correct. if it is correct plz like and mark me as brainliest........

The area of the shaded region is 72.73 centimeter square when a circle with a rectangle in the middle.

Given that,

We have to find the area of the shaded region in the given figure.

We have a circle with a rectangle in the middle and the length of the rectangle is 12cm breath is 5cm and radius of the circle is 6.5.

We know that,

The area of the shaded region is area of the circle - area of the rectangle.

Area of the circle = πr² = π×(6.5)² = 42.25π = 132.73 centimeter square

Area of the rectangle = length ×breath = 5×12=60

The area of the shaded region = 132.73 - 60 = 72.73

Therefore, The area of the shaded region is 72.73 centimeter square when a circle with a rectangle in the middle.
