Solution :

Equation of the line parallel to

3x - y + k = 0 is

3x - y + p = 0 it is passing through

( 1 , -2 ) ,

then

3( 1 ) - ( -2 ) + p = 0

=> 3 + 2 + p = 0

=> p = -5

Therefore ,

Required equation is

3x - y - 5 = 0
