FINAL ANSWER:

4800 coins

GIVEN:

coins 1.5 cm in diameter = r2=0.75 cm

0.2 cm thick =h2=0.2 cm

cylinder of height 16 h1= 16 cm

diameter 6 cm r1= 3 cm

TO FIND:

Find the number of coins could be formed

FORMULA USED:

\frac{pi*r1^{2}*h1}{pi*r2^{2}*h2}

SOLUTION:

∴ number to coins can be made = \frac{pi*r1^{2}*h1}{pi*r2^{2}*h2}

=\frac{pi*3^{2}*16}{pi*0.2^{2}*0.75}    [∵ pi π cancels with π]

=\frac{3^{2}*16}{0.2^{2}*0.75}

=\frac{9*16}{0.04*0.75}

=\frac{144}{0.03}

=4800 coins
