Answer:

We are given that half of a herd of deer are grazing in the field and three fourth of remaining are playing nearby. Let us assume that the number of deers in the herd be x. Therefore, the total number of deers in the herd is 72.

Solution:

Let the total no. of deer = x

ATQ

→ 1/2x + 3/4(x-x/2) + 9 = x

→ 1/2x + 3/4(x/2) + 9 = x

→ 1/2x + 3x/8 + 9 = x

By taking LCM of 2 , 8 , and , 1

4x + 3x + 72 = x

8

→ 7x + 72 = 8x

→ 72 = 8x - 7x

→ 72 = x

Therefore , total no. of deers = 72
