STEP i) -

  • Write equation as given.

STEP ii) -

  • Add equation , if it has opposite sign. eg., (+) (-) = (+) and (-) (+) =(+)

  • Subtract equation, if it has same sign. eg., (+) (+) =(-) and (-) (-) =(-)

  • Here, Equation has opposite sign so that we added equation(i) and equation (ii) .

STEP iii) -

  • Here, We need to know some Multiplication rules.

  • (-) (-) = (+)

  • (+) (+) = (+)

  • (+) (-) = (-)

  • (-) (+) = (-)

  • As (+)(+) = (+) we've added +2x and +3x = +5x , (+) (-) = (-) so we cut +y -y and +5+5 =+10.

  • Now, separate 5x and divide it by 10 .
  • that is, x = 10/5 = 2

*Your Answer is x = 2*
