Answer:

Given:-

If the cost of 11/2 kg of sugar is 825/4, then find the cost of 35/4 kg of sugar.

To Find:-

The cost of 35/4 kg.

Note:-

Here: first we need to convert the 11/2 kg of sugar cost into 1 kg of sugar cost ( unitary method ) by = Cost of 11/2 kg of sugar ÷ with its weight ( 11/2 )

Then: for finding 35/4 kg of sugar cost , 1 kg of sugar cost will be 35/4 times more.

If there is any '÷' division in fractional term then we should change it into multiplication by reciprocal, for example = 3/5 ÷ 7/10 changes to 3/5 × 10/7.

Solution:-

Given weight = 11/2 kg, its cost = 825/4, 35/4 kg of sugar cost = ?

According to note first point ( unitary method )~

▪︎ 1 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = Cost \ \ of \ \ 11/2 kg ÷ With \ \ its \ \ weight

▪︎ 1 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = ₹825/4 ÷ 11/2

According to note third point ( reciprocal )~

▪︎ 1 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = ₹825/4 × 2/11

After doing multiplication

▪︎ 1 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = 1,650/44

After reducing in its lowest term~

▪︎ 1 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = ₹75/2

1 kg of sugar cost = ₹75/2

_______________________

35/4 kg of sugar cost = ?

According to note second point~

▪︎ 35/4 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = 1 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost × 35/4

▪︎ 35/4 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = ₹75/2 × 35/4

After doing multiplication~

▪︎ 35/4 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = ₹2,625/8

After making it into mixed fraction and in decimal~

▪︎ 35/4 kg \ \ of \ \ sugar \ \ cost = ₹328 \ \frac{1}{8} and ₹328.125

Answer:-

Hence, the cost of 35/4 kg of sugar = ₹328 \ \frac{1}{8} or ₹328.125
