QUESTION:–

In how many years will 1000 amount to

1400 at the rate of 4% per annum simple interest?

GIVEN:–

PRINCIPLE=1000

AMOUNT=1400

RATE=4%

FIND:–

TIME

FORMULA:–

SIMPLE INTEREST=(PRINCIPLE×TIME×RATE)/100

AMOUNT=PRINCIPLE+SIMPLE INTEREST

SOLUTION:–

AMOUNT=RS 1400

PRINCIPLE=RS 1000

therefore , SIMPLE INTEREST=RS (1400‐1000)=RS 400

SI=(P×R×T)/100

400=1000×4×T/100

=>400×100/1000×4=T

=>10=T

ANSWER:–

TIME=10 YEARS
