8. In the figure, BAD = CAD; AB = 3.4 cm, BD = 4 cm, BC = 10 cm then find AC?​

Answer :

Given,

AB = 3.4 cm, BD = 4 cm, BC = 10 cm

DC = BC – BD = 10 – 4 = 6 cm

In ΔACB, AD is the internal angle bisector of angle A.

By internal angle bisector theorem,

 \frac{ab}{ab}  =  \frac{dc}{bd}

putting the value,

ec =  \frac{ae}{ad}  \times db

 =  \frac{5}{4}  \times 6

 = 7.5cm
