mark the angle on  the left of x as 1 and right of x as 2 then as the 2 opposite lines are parallel angle z+angle 2=90 and angle y+angle 1=90 as these are angles on the same side of transversal

then as rhs are equal lhs will be equal

2angle z+2 angle y=90+90(angle 2=angle z and angle y=angle 1 so just replace and it became 2 angle z and 2 angle y)

now take 2 common

2(angle z=angle y)=180

angle z+angle y=180/2=90

hence angle z+y=90

now according to angle sum property

angle x+y+x=180

90+x=180

angle x=90
