Given : octagonal park

To Find  : area

Solution:

Area of  octagonal park  = Area of Trapezium Above + Area of Rectangle + Area of Trapezium below

Area of Trapezium Above = (1/2) ( 12 + 8) * 4  =  40 m²

( assuming Symmetry )

Area of Trapezium below will be same as Area of Trapezium Above =  40 m²

Area of Rectangle = 12 x 6  = 72  m²

Area of  octagonal park  =   = 40 + 72 + 40

=> Area of  octagonal park   =  152 m²
