a) List two different plant parts that we consume as food. Give examples.
b) Analyse the given scenarios and answer the questions
(i) Scenario 1: Minal's diet is not balanced and lacks proteins. What will happen if
she continues the same diet? Why?
(ii) Scenario 2: Jasper's bleeding gums have not healed for a long time. Which
nutrient should he increase in his diet? Why?
c) Classify the following animals as herbivores, carnivores, or omnivores based on their
food habits
(i) Animal A eats fruits, wheat and rice grains, and small animals like rats.
(ii) Animal B eats fruits, wheat and rice grains, and grass.​

a) Two different plant parts that we consume as food are root and stem. Example - Sweet potato and Potato respectively.

b)

(i) If she continues the same unbalanced diet which has lack of proteins, Minal will suffer from kwashiorkor. It is because Kwashiorkor is caused by deficiency of food rich in proteins in the diet.

(ii) Jasper should increase Vitamin C in his diet because bleeding gums is a symptom of the disease scurvy which is caused by deficiency of Vitamin C.
