8 men entered a lounge simultaneously. if each person shook hands with the other then find the total no. of handshakes?

The first person will shake hands with 7 people. the second will shake hands with 6 people. If it goes on like this then

7+6+5+4+3+2+1=28 hand shakes

The logic behind the number of handshakes:

The first person will shake hand with the rest of the 7 people

The 2nd person will shake hand with the rest of the 6 people

The 3rd person will shake hand with the rest of the 5 people

The 4th person will shake hand with the rest of the 4 people

The 5th person will shake hand with the rest of the 3 people

The 6th person will shake hand with the rest of the 2 people

The 7th person will shake hand with the rest of the 1 people
