Answer:

Importance of Trees

We depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. Besides providing habitats for animals and livelihoods for humans, forests also offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change. Yet, despite our dependence on forests, we are still allowing them to disappear. Our failure to take care of our forests is threatening the very existence of man and wildlife. Our trees and forests are disappearing mainly because of commercial logging for the timber industries.

1. Trees stabilize the soil. In the absence of trees and forests the fertile top soil is washed away by rainwater making cultivation impossible.

2. Trees prevent desertification. Without trees deserts will increase in size.

3. Trees retain water in the soil. Without forests the entire rainwater flows into the sea. The water is then not available as ground water. Thus we experience flash floods followed by severe droughts. The underground water level also sinks and cultivation becomes impossible.

4. Trees are water bearer. Without trees rainfall will decrease and cultivation will become rather a matter of luck. Worldwide food scarcity causing famines is expected as food grain productions diminished due to low and unpredictable rainfall.

5. Trees are oxygen cylinders. Trees absorb the harmful Carbon dioxide and release Oxygen. Deforestation contributes to the decrease in oxygen level and increase Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Increased Carbon dioxide level results in lungs diseases, cancer and lower life expectancy.

6. Trees keep the temperature temperate.

7. Trees and forests are habitats of wild birds and animals.

8. Tree covered lands are the store house of many medicinal plants.

9. Trees also reduce air and noise pollution

10. Trees add beauty to the landscape.

To save our home, the Earth, and all life in it people must prevent further felling of trees and start planting trees on a mass scale.

{\small{\boxed{\bold{\red{Importance\:Of\:Trees}}}}}

Trees have been in the world long before humans came into existence. Trees have seen organisms rise and fall. Due to modernization and urbanization, many trees have been cut to make more space for malls, buildings, apartments, etc. The Importance of growing more trees is increasing day by day.

  • Trees provide us with oxygen. 7.6 billion people breathe in this world, and as the population of trees to human population is decreasing, it is possible that one day people will struggle to breathe.

  • Trees take a long time to grow to full size, but they are cut at a faster rate than they are planted at. Hence it is essential for everyone to take the initiative and plant more and more trees.

  • As the pollution is growing day by day but the tree count is decreasing, the trees are not able to trap a lot of particles in the air. This leaves the harmful particles in the air, and we are prone to inhale them and suffer the adverse effect.

  • Human population is growing exponentially, but there are not enough trees to sustain that much life on earth. Hence it is essential to plant more trees.

It is high time that we focus on how vital trees are to the lives of humans and other living organisms. Therefore, it is required that every human should take the initiative to plant as many trees as possible and make this world breathable again.
