2 NaOH +CO--> Na2CO+ H2O1 mol CO2 requires 2 moles of NaOH40 g NaOH = 1 mol NaOHIf 1 mole of NaOH is used up by 0.8 mol mixture of CO + CO2 , then the mixture must contain 0.5 mol of CO2. The rest 0.3 mol are of CO.If these 0.3 mol of CO are also oxidised to CO2 , then 0.3 mol of CO2 would require 0.6 mol of NaOH.Hence, 0.6 mol more of NaOH would it require for conversion into Na2CO3, if the mixture (0.8 mol) is completely ozxidised to CO2.
