The potential energy of such an object is mass multiplied by g acceleration multiplied by its height.

The total mechanical energy is always same .

Eg- if the total mechanical energy is 20, then at height h, PE will be 20 and KE Will be 0. In the middle both will be equal. When it is about to touch ground then PE will be 0 and KE Will be 20.

KE IS KINETIC ENERGY AND PE IS POTENTIAL ENERGY.
