8. Ram jogs on a straight road from point A to B. The distance between A and B is 4 km. Now from point B he turn back and
jogs 2 Km to point C. Find the distance and displacement of the whole journey.
9. The odometer at the start of the trip reads 1600 m and at the end of the trip reads 2100 m. The trip journey took 10 hours. What
is the average speed in Km/h and m/s.
10. Jack jogs from point A to point B in 1 min 30 s. The distance between point A and B is 400 m. He then turns back and runs
200 m to point c in 30 secs, what is average velocity and speed from A to B and A to C.

8-distance =6m

displacement=2 m

9- total distance =2100-1600=500m=0.5 km

total time taken= 10hr=10×60×60=36000sec=36×10^3

average speed in km/hr

average speed=total distance /total time taken

=0.5/10=0.05km/hr

average speed in m/sec

average speed =total distance/total time taken

=500/36×10^3=13.8×10^-3 m/sec

10-total distance from A to B=400m

total distance from A to C =600 m

total displacement from A to B= 400 m

total displacement from A to C=200m

time taken from A to B=90sec

time taken A to C=120 sec

average velocity from A to B

average velocity =total displacement/total time taken

=400/90

=4.45 m/sec

average velocity from A to C

Average velocity=total displacement/total time taken

=200/120

=1.67m/sec

average speed from A to B

average speed =total distance /total time taken

=400/90

=4.45m/sec

Average speed from A to C

Average speed= total distance/total time taken

=600/120

=5m/sec.
