the poem is a good way of teaching importance of relationships between us . without any rhyming scheme the poet touched the hearts of all the readers . the poem was easy to read because of simple words . in today's world one ruins his long relationships due to small mistakes . that is the reason animals now are considered better than humans who were earlier called the most precious organisms.in today's world only fake happiness is on everyones face and everyone is lonely today . we require to cultivate the quality to.maintain and make good relationship between us.

APPRECIATION:

The poem ‘animals’ has been penned by Walt Whitman.

The poem has broken away from the conventional use of rhyme scheme and has written the poem in free verse.

A line in this poem which is my favorite is: they bring me tokens of myself. This is a very powerful line that shows us what good qualities human beings must in the early stages of evolution and which they still possess, while we do not.

The central ides of the poem is that animals today are better than humans.

The chief figure of speech used in the poem is Repetition. Lines such as they do not sweat …, they do not lie awake …’, “They do not make me sick … make a strong impact, expressing the qualities that humans should possess, but do not. The other figures of speech are Alliteration, Tautology, Hyperbole, etc.

This is a reflective poem. The language used is simple, but the tone is subtle. Indirectly referring to human beings; descriptive words for good animal qualities.

I like the poem. It teaches us which qualities we require to cultivate in order to foster good relationship between ourselves.
