ᴀ) Rusting is the common term for corrosion of iron and its alloys, such as steel.
Water is usually present in the form of water vapour and oxygen is always present in the normal atmosphere.
So both water and oxygen are required to form rust from metal iron.
ʙ)is estimated that about one-seventh of all iron production goes to replace the metal lost to corrosion. Rust is apparently a hydrated form of iron(III)oxide. The formula is approximately Fe2O3•3/2H2O, although the exact amount of water is variable
