Consider the attached figure while going through the following steps.

Given:

A graph of velocity v/s time notations.

To find:

study the velocity time graph and calculate

(a) the acceleration from A to B-

(b) the acceleration from B to C

(c) The distance covered in the region ABE-

(d) The average velocity from C to D

(e) The distance covered by region

Solution:

(a) The acceleration from A to B is

a = (25 - 0) / (3 - 0) = 8.3 m/s2

(b) The acceleration from B to C

a = (20 - 25 ) / (4 - 3) = -5 m/s2

(c) The distance covered in the region ABE is,

Distance = Area of triangle ABE = 1 / 2 × 3 × 25 = 37.5 m

(d) The average velocity from C to D is,

 V = (20 - 0) / 2 = 10 m/s

(e) The distance covered by region is,

This Distance = Area of trapezium BCFE = 1 / 2 (25 + 20) × (4 - 3) = 22.5 m
