Step-by-step explanation:

Here,

no.of students = 12 from the right + 20th from the left

= 12+20= 32

since Sukul is counted from both sides, sukul is added twice, so 32-1 = 31.

Answer:

41

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Position of Sukul from right end = 12

Position of Ankita from left end = 20

After interchanging the positions,

Position of Sukul from right end = 22

We have to find, total number of students in the row

We will use simple concept here,

Total number of student = ( Present position of 1st person + Previous position of 2nd person ) - 1

Here,

1 st person = Sukul and 2 nd person = Ankita

Also,

Present position of 1st person i.e. Sukul = 22

Previous position of 2nd person i.e Ankita = 20

Putting the values in the formula we get,

= ( 22 + 20 ) - 1

= 42 - 1

= 41

Hence, The answer is 41
