A municipal council is a local legislative body such as a legislature or a city council. An elected representative of a ward is the municipal councillor and also known as the Ward Councillor. A councillor’s job is to work with other members of the council to determine the general direction of the municipality by playing the role of policy maker

EXPLANATION:

If I were to invite the Municipal Councillor of my area to my schools, I would ask the following questions

  • How you think your main street could be changed. Would walking be there safe?
  • What's more important now for our city: building new houses and commercial spaces, or rehabilitation / expansion / improvement of existing homes and storefronts?
  • How do you feel about the available transport options in our city? Do we have ample possibilities? If not, what are you going to do to change them?
  • Some in our community say we have issues with traffic. What do you think? What do you believe? How do you mitigate or alter these concerns?
  • What would it be and why if you could change one thing in our ward/zone?
