Given:

  • Area of rectangle = 24 m²
  • Length of rectangle = 8 m

To find:

  • Breadth of the rectangle
  • Cost of fencing the rectangular plot of land at ₹2 per m.

Solution:

As we have to find the cost of fencing the rectangular plot of land, i.e. the perimeter of the rectangle, first its necessary to know the breadth of the rectangle.

We know that,

\boxed {\mathfrak {\orange {Area\ of\ rectangle = l \times b}}}

24 = 8b

\sf \dfrac {24}{8} = b

\bigstar {\bf {\pink {3\ m = breadth}}}

Now,

\boxed {\mathfrak {\blue {Perimeter\ of\ rectangle = 2(l+b)}}}

Perimeter = 2(8+3)

Perimeter = 2×11

\bigstar {\bf {\red {Perimeter = 22\ m}}}

Cost of fencing 1 m plot of land = ₹2

Cost of fencing 22 m plot of land = 2×22

= ₹44

Cost of fencing:

Cost of fencing the rectangular plot of land is 44.
